Vaughan Business
Enterprise Centre (VBEC) opened its doors in early 2001 to provide business
development resources and support to local
business owners. Founding partners are the City of Vaughan
(Economic Development Dept) and the Province of Ontario
(Ministry of Small Business and Entrepreneurship).
VBEC’s main objective is to offer the residents of Vaughan and
York Region a complete ENTREPRENEURSHIP Resource Centre, where
they can find assistance, expertise and information for the
purpose of starting or expanding a small business.
VBEC encourages entrepreneurship by creating alliances between the
public and private sectors. The innovation is to link these
resources to the problem at hand in a new way. The key to creating
vibrant entrepreneurial programs and services that provide ongoing
support and mentoring to clients, is support from local,
provincial and federal governments, numerous private sector
individuals and companies, community groups and academic
organizations.
